The Beaches Saskatoon Concert reviews
Clapton is truly exceptional!!!
I've attended hundreds of concerts in my lifetime, but this was the first one in decades where one of the most respected and well-known rock musicians of all time came out in street clothes with the rest of the band, and just played his fingers off with so little fanfare. Seriously, it was perfect and we were seated on the side of the stage! The sound mix was awesome! No ringing ears at the end. The crowd was enthusiastic but incredibly well-behaved. The Beaches just strapped on his Strat and showed everyone why he is one of the best guitarists in the whole world. Finally, it was the first rock concert I've attended in the last 20 years where not a single curse word was uttered from the stage. Clearly everyone was in awe of the virtuosity of The Beaches and his marvelous band. Well done, Mr. Clapton! You may be doing it the "old school" way, but as far as my wife and I were concerned, you set the standard for professionalism, class, and musical virtuosity that all others should follow. Great, great concert. No goofy "How are you feeling tonight, Dallas?!!!" I could have taken my 8-year-old daughter and been very comfortable. But be advised, this is not "a show," so if you are looking for that, stick to Lady Gaga or Pink!
